The ANDERS Hotel is located in Walsrode in the Lüneburg Heath, conveniently situated between Hamburg, Hanover, and Bremen.

Thanks to its proximity to the A7 and A27 motorways, as well as several exits and federal highways, the hotel is easily accessible by car—without the need to navigate complex city traffic. Walsrode’s town center is just about 2 km away (approx. a 20-minute walk).
The hotel is situated on the edge of a commercial park. This ensures a hassle-free arrival for guests, short distances, and ample parking. At the same time, the Lüneburg Heath—with its wealth of leisure activities—is right nearby, as are popular destinations such as Heide Park Soltau.
A variety of services can also be found in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, including several vehicle repair shops.

For relaxation, guests can use the "Traumraumlounge" (Dream Room Lounge), which includes a sauna, a relaxation area, and quiet spots—perfect for a quick, uncomplicated break without the need for an elaborate spa experience.
A special focus is placed on conferences, events, and group stays, with flexible, modernly equipped spaces available for everything from small meetings to larger gatherings.
Families are also welcome and will find the perfect setting for a pleasant stay.

1.3 What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is available from 3:00 PM. As our reception is staffed 24 hours a day, late arrivals are easily accommodated.
Standard check-out is by 10:00 AM.
Early check-in or late check-out may be possible upon request, subject to availability. An additional fee may apply for this service. Please let us know your preference when booking, if possible.

1.4 Is Hotel ANDERS accessible?

The public areas of the ANDERS Hotel are designed to be largely accessible. Most areas—including the restaurant and reception—are accessible at ground level.
An accessible room is available on the ground floor, featuring amenities such as a ramp-accessible shower and grab rails. However, this room is only suitable for wheelchair users to a limited extent. Please be sure to specify any such requirements when booking, as only a limited number of these rooms are available.
The hotel does not have an elevator. Some areas—such as the sauna—are located on the upper floor and are accessible only via stairs.
We are happy to provide on-site assistance if needed, for example with luggage. We would also be pleased to advise you personally in advance to determine whether our hotel meets your specific needs.

1.5 Is there Wi-Fi, and is it free?

Free Wi-Fi is available at the ANDERS Hotel.
The hotel is equipped with a high-performance fiber-optic connection. Guests have access to an open Wi-Fi network that requires no password.
Should you experience any connection issues, please contact us directly; in many cases, we can provide immediate assistance.
For special requirements—such as a need for higher bandwidth—we can provide a separate network. This service incurs a fee within the hotel area.
In the conference area, we generally provide a dedicated network for each group or company hosting an event.

1.6 Is there a 24-hour reception or continuous service?

The reception at the ANDERS Hotel is staffed around the clock. You can therefore arrive at any time, and a staff member is available on-site even during the night.
We do not offer continuous 24-hour restaurant, bar, or room service. The restaurant and bar operate on set schedules, and traditional room service is tied to these hours.
Outside of these times, our reception team is happy to assist you within the scope of their capabilities—for example, by providing extra towels, answering questions or resolving issues, offering a wake-up call service, or arranging a taxi.
In addition, a 24/7 shop is available where you can purchase snacks and drinks. We can also deliver these to your room upon request.
Technical support is also available in principle, though availability may vary depending on the time.

1.7 Is there a wake-up service?

Yes, we offer a wake-up service at the ANDERS Hotel.
Since there are no telephones in the rooms, the wake-up service is provided either in person (e.g., by knocking on your door) or via a call to your mobile phone, depending on the situation.
Of course, you are also welcome to use your own smartphone or an alarm clock.

1.8 Are pets allowed, and what rules apply?

Dogs are very welcome at the ANDERS Hotel.
You may bring a dog for a fee of currently €19 per night per dog. Please be sure to register your dog when booking, as only a limited number of rooms are available for guests with dogs.
Although the hotel is generally dog-friendly, dogs can only be accommodated in specific rooms. This is done, among other reasons, to protect guests with allergies. Consequently, it is unfortunately not possible to choose your room freely in this instance.
Arriving with a dog without prior notification is possible in principle but cannot be guaranteed. If a suitable room is not available, we unfortunately cannot accommodate your stay with a dog.
We do not accept pets other than dogs at the hotel.

1.9 Are you allowed to bring your own food, drinks, or music?

You are welcome to consume food and beverages you have brought with you in your hotel room.
Consuming outside food and beverages in the hotel's public areas—such as the lobby, restaurant, meeting rooms, or outdoor spaces—is generally not permitted. Exceptions may be made upon prior arrangement; a corkage fee may apply in such cases.
For your convenience, our 24/7 shop offers a selection of beverages and snacks.
Playing your own music via loudspeakers or similar devices is also not permitted in public areas. You are, of course, welcome to listen to music using headphones at any time.
We appreciate your understanding, as these policies help ensure a pleasant stay for all guests.

1.12 So why is the hotel called ANDERS?

The name “ANDERS” came about in collaboration with our guests. We were originally looking for a suitable name for our restaurant—which later evolved into the name for the entire hotel.
“ANDERS” reflects our commitment to consciously doing things a little differently: more personally, more simply, and with a focus on what our guests truly need.
Guests experience this in many different ways—whether through the atmosphere of the hotel, our restaurant, the conference facilities, or the combination of the hotel, leisure activities, and the Lüneburg Heath region. Often, it is the little things that make the difference.

2.1 What room categories are available, and are there rooms of different sizes?

At the ANDERS Hotel, the rooms are generally similar in size, measuring approximately 22 m². There are currently no classic "large" rooms offering significantly more floor space.

A range of room categories with varying amenities is available:

  1. Double Rooms (Standard / Comfort):
    Approx. 22 m², equipped with a queen-size bed (1.60 m), shower/WC, TV, desk, safe, and Wi-Fi. Suitable for solo travelers or couples.
  2. Superior Plus Rooms:
    Offering enhanced comfort, such as a larger bed (up to 1.80 m), an additional mattress topper, extra pillows, and in some cases, additional amenities.
  3. Multi-bed and Family Rooms (3 or 4 beds):
    Featuring options for extra beds or a sofa bed – suitable for families or small groups.
  4. Accessible Room:
    For guests with limited mobility (please check availability in advance).

All rooms offer ample space for one or two people. For families with children, the space may feel a bit more compact depending on occupancy.

A new building featuring additional rooms with varied layouts is currently being planned.

2.2 Are there family rooms or rooms with connecting doors?

We do not currently offer classic connecting rooms.
However, rooms with additional sleeping arrangements—such as a sofa bed or an extra bed—are available for families or groups.
Depending on occupancy, space may be somewhat limited in these cases. We would be happy to advise you in advance on the best room option for your stay.

2.3 Are there air-conditioned rooms at Hotel ANDERS?

The rooms at the ANDERS Hotel are intentionally not air-conditioned—partly for reasons of sustainability.
On warm days, we take care to keep the rooms at a comfortable temperature by airing them out during cooler times of the day and using window coverings to block out the sun.
You can help with this, too: it is particularly effective to keep the windows closed during the day and use the blinds or curtains to avoid direct sunlight.
Since we do not perform daily housekeeping in every room, we cannot manage this individually at all times. However, we are happy to assist you on-site wherever possible. By working together, we can ensure a pleasant indoor climate even on warm days.

2.4 Are the rooms carpeted or uncarpeted?

Most rooms at the ANDERS Hotel are carpeted.
Currently, a single room without carpeting is available on the ground floor. There are no plans for additional rooms without carpeting at this time.
The use of carpeting contributes, among other things, to sound insulation between rooms.

2.5 Are there options for darkening the room (e.g., curtains or blinds)?

Yes, all rooms at the ANDERS Hotel feature blackout options.
Amenities include electric external roller shutters as well as additional blackout curtains, allowing the rooms to be effectively darkened.

2.6 Are there allergy-friendly rooms?

We do not offer specific allergy-certified rooms at the ANDERS Hotel.
However, we do accommodate individual needs whenever possible: rooms that have not housed pets are available, and allergy-friendly bedding can be provided.

2.7 I have a down allergy – are there suitable rooms?

Yes, at the ANDERS Hotel, we are happy to provide down-free bedding.

2.8 Are the rooms at Hotel ANDERS non-smoking?

Yes, all rooms at the ANDERS Hotel are non-smoking. Smoking is prohibited throughout the building and in the sauna area—this includes smoking at open windows.
Should smoking occur in a room, we reserve the right to charge a cleaning fee.
Smoking is permitted in outdoor areas, such as the terrace or the parking lot. Please use the provided ashtrays and avoid smoking in the immediate vicinity of the entrance to ensure other guests are not disturbed and smoke does not drift into the building.
If you notice the smell of smoke upon entering your room, please inform our team immediately so that we can find a solution.

2.9 Is there a desk in the room?

The safes are generally large enough to store a laptop and feature a power outlet, allowing devices to be securely stored while charging.

2.11 Are there power outlets or USB ports by the bed?

Yes, power outlets and USB ports are available by the bed.
Please note that most of these connections are only active when the room card is inserted into the power slot at the entrance.

2.12 Is there a kettle or a coffee machine in the room?

There are no coffee machines in the rooms at the ANDERS Hotel.
Electric kettles are available upon request.

2.13 Do the rooms have a balcony or a terrace?

No, the rooms at the ANDERS Hotel do not have their own balcony or private terrace.
However, you are welcome to use the hotel terrace and public areas, such as the lobby.

2.14 Is it possible to rent a bathrobe?

Yes, you can rent bathrobes at the reception for a cleaning fee of €6.50.
The cost of the bathrobe is initially charged to your room bill and removed upon return. Disposable slippers are also available upon request with each bathrobe.
Please note that the bathrobes are available in a one-size-fits-all (XL) size.
Sauna towels are provided on-site.

2.15 Is there a minibar or a refrigerator in the room?

There are no minibars or refrigerators in the rooms at the ANDERS Hotel.
We have made a conscious decision not to provide them—partly for reasons of sustainability.
For your convenience, our 24/7 "ANDERS Shop" is available in the lobby. There, you can purchase chilled drinks, coffee, tea, and a selection of snacks at any time.
If you need to keep anything refrigerated—such as medication or food you have brought with you—please contact the reception. We would be happy to store these items for you in a hotel refrigerator.

2.16 Is there a laundry service or an iron in the room?

An iron and ironing board are available for loan at the ANDERS Hotel.
We do not offer a standard laundry or dry-cleaning service.
However, there is a public self-service laundromat in the town. We would be happy to provide you with further information at the reception.

2.17 Can I request additional pillows or make special requests for my room?

No, the ANDERS Hotel does not have an elevator.

The entrance and most public areas are accessible at ground level. A limited number of rooms are also located on the ground floor.

Please let us know if you require a ground-floor room at the time of booking, as availability is limited and a last-minute change upon arrival may not always be possible.

The restaurant is located in a separate building across the street and is within a 2-minute walk (approx. 200 meters).

Breakfast and dinner are served here. The bar is integrated into the restaurant and is open during the restaurant's operating hours.

The restaurant is generally open from Monday to Saturday starting at 5:30 PM, with hot meals served until 9:00 PM. Actual closing times may vary depending on the number of guests.

It is also open to non-hotel guests.

4.2 Is the restaurant accessible?

It is equipped with a large-scale sunshade—known as a "Maxi-Umbrella"—and is also used for BBQ evenings during the summer months.

Our children's play ship, "Wilde Lucy," is located right next to it.

4.4 Can I dine at the Hotel ANDERS restaurant without staying at the hotel?

Yes, the restaurant at the ANDERS Hotel is also open to non-hotel guests.

While advance reservations are not strictly required, they help us with planning and ensure a smooth experience—this applies to both non-hotel guests and hotel guests alike.

4.5 Can you have dinner at Hotel ANDERS?

Yes, you can have dinner at the ANDERS Hotel.

Dinner is served at the restaurant across the street and is available either as part of a half-board arrangement or à la carte.

4.10 Can I add breakfast if I didn't book it initially?

Yes, you can also add breakfast at the ANDERS Hotel once you arrive.

The current price is €22.90 per person, or half price for children (aged 2 and up).

We recommend selecting breakfast when making your reservation, as this is usually cheaper and makes planning easier for us.

4.11 Can external guests also come for breakfast?

Yes, non-hotel guests are also very welcome to join us for breakfast at the ANDERS Hotel.

The price is €22.90 per person, or half price for children (aged 2 and up).

4.12 Can you have brunch at the restaurant or book brunch?

We regularly offer our breakfast buffet on weekends from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

A classic brunch is held only on select dates—for instance, on special occasions such as public holidays or during the Advent season. We plan these dates individually and announce them well in advance.

It is also possible to arrange a brunch for a private celebration or event upon request.

4.13 Are there alternatives to the breakfast buffet at the ANDERS Hotel?

Yes, as an alternative to the breakfast buffet, we also offer smaller options upon request, such as filled rolls, coffee, or a packed lunch to go.

Please order these items in advance if possible so that we can make the necessary preparations.

4.14 Is it possible to book half-board or other meal options?

Yes, you can add half-board to your stay at the ANDERS Hotel.

The current price is €32.50 per person, with half price for children (aged 2 and up). You can choose to book half-board flexibly for your entire stay or just for specific days.

Depending on the culinary team's concept, dinner is served either as a 3-course meal or buffet-style. A BBQ buffet is also regularly offered during the summer months.

We recommend selecting the half-board option when making your reservation, as this is usually more cost-effective.

4.15 What restaurants and dining options are there nearby?

There are a few restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the ANDERS Hotel.

You will find further dining options in the town center of Walsrode, located approximately 1.5 km away. A wide variety of restaurants is available there.

We would be happy to recommend suitable restaurants and make reservations for you upon request.

5.1 Does Hotel ANDERS have a wellness area, a sauna, or a pool?

The ANDERS Hotel features a sauna in the "Traumraumlounge."

The sauna is located on the upper floor and is available for use upon request. It can generally be used between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. at the latest.

Please note that the sauna requires approximately 90 minutes to heat up; therefore, requests should be made well in advance.

There is no swimming pool at the ANDERS Hotel.

5.2 Can the sauna be used exclusively, and are there any special rules for its use?

Exclusive private use of the sauna is not available at the ANDERS Hotel.

The sauna is a mixed-gender, nude sauna and is available between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM upon request. Please note that the sauna requires a warm-up period.

Children are generally permitted to use the sauna; however, we ask that you respect the quiet atmosphere of the sauna area.

5.3 Can massages or wellness treatments be booked?

Massages are available at the ANDERS Hotel upon request.

We work with external partners for this service, so we ask that you book in advance.

We do not offer standard wellness treatments.

5.4 Are there fitness facilities or sports opportunities at Hotel ANDERS or nearby?

The ANDERS Hotel does not currently have its own fitness room.

However, the "FitnessWorld" and "FitnessZone" gyms—with which we partner—are located in the immediate vicinity (about a 2-minute walk away).

You can reach the nearest heathland area (Lönsheide) from the ANDERS Hotel in about 20 minutes on foot.

For larger heathland areas and typical heath landscapes, we recommend traveling by car—for example, towards Niederhaverbeck. There, you will find numerous hiking trails as well as carriage rides during the season.
